The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is the largest film festival in the Czech Republic and the most prestigious film festival in Central and Eastern Europe.

Recognized as one of the world’s oldest A-list film festivals, KVIFF presents around 200 films from across the globe every year and welcomes leading filmmakers, producers, distributors and industry professionals. The festival’s industry programme, KVIFF Promises (formerly Eastern Promises), was held onsite on July 6th and 7th, 2026 as part of the KVIFF Industry Days. The platform connects emerging filmmakers and projects with producers, sales agents, distributors, festival programmers and investors from around the world, while maintaining a strong focus on discovering talent from Central Europe and fostering international co-production opportunities. In 2026, the programme further expanded its international scope with new initiatives such as Book-to-Screen, alongside its established showcases including Works in Development - Feature Launch, KVIFF Central Stage, and KVIFF Talents.
