The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) is one of North America’s leading documentary film festivals, presenting over 120 Canadian and international documentaries each year.

Founded in 1998 by Quebec filmmakers, RIDM has grown into a major cultural event, welcoming more than 63,000 attendees through a rich and diverse program that includes film screenings, retrospectives, debates, and parallel activities.

RIDM champions innovative and socially engaged documentary cinema, offering audiences films that address pressing global issues while pushing creative and artistic boundaries. The festival also creates spaces for exchange between filmmakers and audiences through masterclasses, discussions, and industry gatherings.

Since 2004, Forum RIDM - Quebec’s only documentary forum - has supported independent documentary production through mentorship initiatives, professional sessions, and a dedicated documentary market, strengthening collaboration and talent development within the industry.

In 2025, Forum RIDM took place onsite in Montreal on November 26, bringing industry professionals together for a full day of meetings and networking.
